Leaves of Absence

The University offers the following leaves of absence without pay:

  • Short-term leave: Up to 30 workdays
  • University leave: Up to 12 months
  • Military leave: Called to active military duty, active or inactive duty training, or full-time National Guard duty

Requesting a University leave of absence

For University leaves of absence, request a leave of absence by downloading and completing this form and submitting it to your immediate supervisor. Requests should be made no less than 30 days in advance, or as soon as possible in an emergency situation. Your supervisor will evaluate the request and if approved, submit it to Leave Administration for final review and processing. A notification will be sent to the employee and supervisor.
